We had better double-lock the doors
for, there are occasions,
when the dead
go into an angry frenzy!
They push away their gravestones
and, as in a trance,
start banging on our heads
seeking to enter.
We had better seal all the cracks in the windows,
shut tight the door at the back,
and the chimneys.
They normally show themselves mad with anger,
wearing their long wild beards
as they start to give us commands.
They will shake us out of our Roman beds;
They will burn our faces with the fire in their eyes!
Send them away -these feeble creatures!
Do not allow ghosts to come anywhere near us
for, in time,
that they are not who we thought they were.
It is unwise to sleep with the dead
for, gradually, you learn the Truth.
