The forest

Back to BlogThey stayed in memory, those pine trees.
Toweringly, they hid the sun and safely surrounded our souls.
We were children then.
With the rustling of the leaves, we were enchanted
and we were looking for the Dryads among their shadows.
I was smelling the pine trees.
I was smelling the scent of the forest.
I was smelling the mystery.
and the primordial feeling of existence
that started from the earth and ascended to infinity.
With our children’s hands
we removed the pine needles,
we were cleaning the place we made our home,
we were cleaning up the concerns that were hiding
in our child’s soul.
And then all the nymphs came,
Dryads, Naiads, Oreads*
they danced, their veils waved white,
whispered stories and fairy tales.
The forest was becoming enchanted.
It had no boundaries, no borders.
It spread to the universe.
It was big, it was huge.
It filled my child’s heart.
I was not thirsty anymore.
I remember the forest.
It taught me to aim high.
Looking at infinity;
Do not compromise;
Dreaming.
There, under the pulsating shadows of the trees
we found the meaning and happiness of existence.
*Nymphs of forests and nature in general, in ancient Greek mythology. Dryads were the nymphs of the trees, Naiads were the nymphs of rivers, springs, and waters in general, and Oreads were the nymphs of the mountains.

Very nostalgic of your youth 🙏🏼
I agree Jacob. Children can appreciate beauty differently, and it stays in memory forever.
